Emile Heskey insists his former club Liverpool should sign Jadon Sancho rather than moving for either Kylian Mbappe or Erling Haaland.

The Reds have been linked with Borussia Dortmund winger Sancho – also Manchester United’s No.1 transfer target – throughout the season and a sensational move for Paris Saint-Germain striker Mbappe has also been mooted.

Meanwhile, Sancho’s 19-year-old teammate Haaland has emerged as a target for a number of Europe’s giant clubs- despite only moving to Germany in January.

The Norwegian has continued his prolific form in the Bundesliga since his switch from Salzburg, scoring 10 goals in just nine games.

But despite the strength of the competition, Heskey maintains that 20-year-old Sancho is the best option on offer for his old club.

“I’d choose Sancho for Liverpool, out of the three,” Heskey told GentingBet as reported by Metro. “Mbappe is a phenomenal player who is another player who keeps on rising and is only going to get better and better.

“He’s focused more to keep the consistency going at that age is just phenomenal.

“It’s difficult, because for Liverpool you’d choose a player who was more on the wing than central. But again, Haaland’s goals are a key factor.

“I’m going to patriotic and say that Sancho would be great, being an England player and an entertaining player as well.

“I would say someone like that would be great to get on the wing and terrorise defences.”

If Heskey’s advice is heeded and Liverpool pursue Sancho as their priority target, it is thought they will need to pay £100million to secure his services.
